I was getting tired on not seeing any new posts on here, so i thought since i have the power to post things, i would!
On behalf of the Solid Rock Youth Leaders, i want to wish everyone out there a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Make sure to spend lots of time with the people you love, and dont forget what this season is really all about.
Someone once sent me the following little story, and i thought i would share it here. It seems appropriate since it is Christmas!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One Solitary Life
Nearly two thousand years ago in an obscure village, a child was born of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village where He worked as a carpenter until He was thirty. Then for three years He became an itinerant preacher.
This man never went to college or seminary. He never wrote a book. He never held a public office. He never had a family nor owned a home. He never put His foot inside a big city nor traveled even 200 miles from His birthplace. And though He never did any of the things that usually accompany greatness, throngs of people followed Him. He had no credentials but Himself.
While He was still young, the tide of public opinion turned against Him. His followers ran away. He was turned over to His enemies and sentenced to death on a cross between two thieves. While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – the simple coat He had worn. His body was laid in a borrowed grave provided by a compassionate friend.
But three days later this Man arose from the dead – living proof that He was, as He had claimed, the Savior whom God had sent, the Incarnate Son of God.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone and today the risen Lord Jesus Christ is the central figure of the human race. On our calendars His birth divides history into two eras. One day of every week is set aside in remembrance of Him. And our two most important holidays celebrate His birth and resurrection. On church steeples around the world, His cross has become the symbol of victory over sin and death.
This one Man’s life has furnished the theme for more songs, books, poems and paintings than any other person or event in history. Thousands of colleges, hospitals, orphanages and other institutions have been founded in honor of this One who gave His life for us.
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the governments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned have not changed the course of history as much as this One Solitary Life.
Merry Christmas everyone, and we'll see you all in the New Year! Make sure you check the website early in 2006 so you'll know when we are starting up again!
God bless, and see you soon!

Blessed Christmas and that all draw closer to Jesus in the new year.
Very cool and "oh so true" story. How are you my pastor and friend? Do you still smell like sheep?
God has blessed us out here as He holds us in the palm of His hand and we have felt that and know it. High River Baptist Church family has welcomed us and we are involved with God's work as we were at First Baptist.
Youth group is on Wednesday/Friday with a turnout of about 20 and a leadership of the Youth Pastor, his wife, and two leaders. There are a couple of "leaders on demand" that we are very thankful for. The smaller number has made it possible for me to get to know the youth better/sooner. "Sort of reminds me of Tidal Impact 2002. We (Chad and I) are glad to hear you are planning on going this year. We hold that time as a time where we saw God's hand in so many things and lives of youth, leaders, children, etc. changed forever. Praise God.
As I write I begin to miss seeing you all and being with you more and more. You all hold such a HUGE part in my heart. "I praise God for every remembrance of you".
There is so much news from here and there is probably so much news from there as well. One of the resolutions I want to do in obedience to God's leading is to stay better in touch with those I love and to be more accountable in some weak areas. ("In our weakness He is strong').
You should be receiving something as witness to this comittment within 2 weeks of today.
Chad says "hello". Evan says "hey everybody".
As for the rest; we'll find out as corespondence continues (haha)
Please give my love to your family and all you know I hold dear. I see the face of so many of the youth in my mind and I lift them up in prayer as I know God loves them a million times more than I can imagine.
You are all my family in ways that I find hard to beleive. I am so thankful for each one of you.
Looking forward to "staying in touch".
Love, Hugs, Prayers
Joe
