Hey Solid Rockers - hope everyone is having an awesome summer vacation. Wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that this is the week that our "gang" is at Group Workcamp is Hoosick Falls New York. Remember to pray for these guys and gals as it will be a challenging week of working for those who need a little help in life.
If you have a couple of minutes, head on over to the Workcamp "E-mail a Participant" page and send a note to someone in our group. Just select "Hoosick Falls, NY: 7/08 - 7/14" from the Camp list - then you can email a specific person on the trip, or just address your email to Solid Rock Youth, Charlottetown PEI, and the email will get to them. I'm sure they would love to hear from us! Who doesn't love mail! I know I do. But don't email me, email everyone at Group Workcamp... Well, email them first, then email me if you want to.
Here is a list of the leaders and youth that are at workcamp this week:
Leaders- Chris Austin, Michele Austin, Andrea Slysz, Debbie Atkinson, Cathy Atkinson, David MacKenzie
Youth- Hannah Austin, Ashleigh Austin, Emily Atkinson, Jocelyn Caldaway, Emma Norton, Sara MacLean, Sarah MacLean, Justin Clorey, David Brandon, Josh Slysz, Dan Jabbour, Andrew Reid, Zack Williams, Jackie Myers, Katie Carragher, Katie Moore, Melanie Johnson.

Workcamp was quite an experience. On the first Monday I thought I was going to die tearing down a gross old deck in Hoosick Falls, New York, in extremely hot temps. Then it got really, really hot and humid on Tuesday and the power went out so we had to saw boards by hand! I was SURE I was going to die. Then I began to fall in love with my crew and the residents of the home we were working on and I thought, hey, first of all I'm not dying (which really wouldn't be so bad anyway), and second, this helping other people thing just might be worth the discomfort! Yes it certainly was! We had a lot of fun, we learned new construction skills, we did great work, we spread the Word to a few more of God's people, and we met a lot of great new friends. God is good (eh Michele?)
