Hey it's a full week of Rock and we don't want you to miss any of it.
This Wednesday night our group is splitting up (all great Rock bands split up sometime). The Jr. High are meeting at the Victoria Park Oval for some outdoor skating from 7-8pm. (please get dropped off at Victoria Park) After skating we'll return to the youth room for some hot chocolate and some games to really warm us up. (get picked up from the church)
The Sr. High are having a study break (officially called "Studius Maximus") at the Atkinson's (53 Prince Charles Dr). It's a couple of hours to take a break, relax and get your mind off those pesky exams.
This Friday night the Solid Rock Cafe is open for all your entertainment and much needed study break needs. Doors open at 6pm.
Our Lost Lock-In is fully planned and ready to take off. This promises to be one of the most exciting Lock-Ins we've ever dreamed up. If you're a fan of the TV show you'll love it. If you've never seen the show you'll love it anyway. Lot's of twists and turns to keep you guessing for a full 12 hours.
Lock-In is on Friday Feb 2 from 8pm -8am. (The cost is $10 per person or $20 for two or more from the same family) Bring what you need to get you through the night (no drugs) and we'll take care of the rest! In the future Solid Rockers will be asking you, "were you there for the Lost Lock-In? (and you will want to be able to answer, Yes!)
See you all this Friday, and for all of you studying...you have my love, prayers and support!
PS...looking for Solid Rock Random Trivia? It's a few posts down the page.
It's one of those good news/bad news things. The good news (and it's very good news) is that you get to enjoy a full day off school. Sleep in, have a late breakfast (or lunch) and relax (this makes adults very jealous).
The bad news is that whenever school is cancelled we cancel Solid Rock as well. (it keeps things really simple and we make sure that no one is trying to make it in here when the weather is bad).
Next week (Jan 23) is a Split Night. The Sr. High (who are in exams) can take a study break at the Atkinsons (53 Prince Charles Ave) and the Jr. High are meeting at the Victoria Park rink (or whatever it's called) for skating then we'll drive you back to the church for hot chocolate. Jr. High can get picked up from the church at 9pm.
Our winter calendar is due out next week with all the great stuff going on for the next three months. We always post it on the website, and we'll mail it out as well.
