We've got two awesome events coming up in the Solid Rock Youth!
This Wednesday is our Hillbilly Night! From 7-9:30 we're kicking up our heels for a night of feudin', foolin', feedin' and some amazing Hillbilly dancin'! Wheeeee doggie!! It's just two days away from your march break so let's get the celebratin' started early and have a great time.
We want you to put on your best Hillbilly duds (jeans, overalls, bandana, straw hat, bad teeth, pig tails, rope belts, checkered shirts, suspenders...) and come prepared for a ton of good times. Drag along your friends but whatever you do... don't stay at home doin' nothin'!!
On Saturday March 25 at 7pm here at First Baptist we've got an awesome concert with two great bands. The band Downhere (nominated for a Grammy Award this year) and the band The Silent (playing at Kingdom Bound this summer). Two great bands in one location for one great price. Cost for the night is $12 (if you get the ticket this week in the SRY) or $15 at the door on Saturday night. It's their only Island stop on the tour so get your ticket and get prepared for a great night!

Tonight Wally-Pong, who some said was only an urban legend, came back to life. It was fast paced, loud, well attended, and slow to be liked. But in the end Wally-Pong did indeed rue the day! In the interest of quitting while ahead Chris Austin, the creator of the game, has been quoted as saying "We as a solid rock leadership team feel it is a good time to retire Wally-Pong from our game roster."

March break is only a couple of weeks away and we've got two great weeks of SRY to put you in a really good mood.
This week we're in the cafe for a night hosted by Banana Productions. That's right... the night is being taken over by the youth so brace yourself... we don't even know what's going on! We know it will be a great night though.
Next week on Wednesday March 15 we're having our very first Hill-Billy Night! Remember last year's Frenchy's Formal? Remember the classy outfits and the amazing dancing displays? Well this time there won't be anything classy about it! It's over-alls, worn cowboy hats and really bad teeth! It's about really fun music, square dancing and the very best Hill-Billy games on the planet. It's about kicking up your heels, having a great time, and knowing that March break is just two days away. Make sure to drag all your red-neck friends along as well.

On March 25 (the last Saturday of march break) the Banana Productions crew is hosting one great concert with two great bands. The bands are Downhere (nominated for a grammy award this year) and The Silent (soon releasing a CD and playing at Kingdom Bound this summer).
The concert is here at First Baptist, doors open at 7pm and the cost is $12 for advance tickets (available from the SRY) or $15 at the door on the night of the event.
These are two great bands and this is their only Island stop on their Canadian tour. Come out for a great night of great music and bring all your friends along! It's gonna be fun, it's gonna be for you, and it's gonna be loud!

This Friday the Solid Rock Cafe opens it's doors at 6pm for the very best in live entertainment, trivia and cafe snacks. (who keeps making those amazing brownies!?)
