Hey there Solid Rockers! Last week we gave the parents a free meal, some fun and abit of competiton. They were up for the challenge and we appreciate all the parents coming for the evening. The parents won the match-maker game (how about Andrew's "love outfit"?) but then lost the Family Fued game (parents should watch more TV... they would have won it all!)
This week we're split into Jr. and Sr. High. The Jr. High are at the cafe for a classic Solid Rock night known as the Virus Game. It's a night where you'll be challenged in every way using various mental and physical tests. Teams will compete against each other and all teams must avoid the virus at all costs. Game begins at 7pm.
The Sr. High will meet at the cafe at 7pm and then head over to the Delta for the ECMA "Sound Off" to determine the best High School band on the Island. Our own Bev Reiger & The Sally Sues will be performing. The cost for the concert is $5/person. The concert begins at 8pm and is suppost to last for a couple of hours. Please tell your folks you will call them when it's over and please arrange to get picked up from the Delta.
Whether you're in Jr. or Sr. High it's going to be a great night so gather your friends together and join us!
Need some help with school work? Our own teacher Jayne and Becky are available every Wednesday at 5:30 in the church hall. No problem is too big or too hard!!
Also a reminder to those interested in the New Jersy Group Workcamp to please get signed up for the trip by the end of Feb. There is room for 5 more youth (grades 9-12) so get the space while it's available.
We haven't had a winner in two weeks so it's time someone steps up and wins this thing (I'm tired of eating all the fabulous prizes!)
So here are the questions, best wishes and come on people let's win this thing!
For it's population Iceland drinks more of this pop than any nation on earth. 1. Dr. Pepper 2. Coke 3. 7-Up
The average North American makes this many trips to the grocery store in one week. 1. 1 2. 2 3. 3

1. Olive Branch 2. An Apple 3. Cow Dung (yuck!)
What better way of saying you appreciate those parents than a nice free meal served by their very own offspring!
That's right! Tonight you get the chance to do something nice for the folks and maybe even get some satisfaction by beating them in a game or two. All games this year are mental tests (meaning there will not be deadly marshmallows flying around!)
Supper begins at 6:30 with games through the night ending at 8:30. Youth come ready to serve your folks and join in some great games.
If your interested in the Group Workcamp to New Jersy this summer please stay for an important youth/parents info meeting (it won't be long, I promise!) See ya tonight!
This Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 we'll be showing our parents some love by hosting the Parent's Appreciation Supper!
Yes it's your night to serve your parents a wonderful, free meal and then challenge them in some great games like, Family Fued, Matchmaker and Jeopardy! (if you let them win it will make them even happier!)
The meal will be taking place in the downstairs hall where they will be seated, then waited on hand and foot (just like at home). It's a great way of saying thanks to some great folks in your life. If only one parent can come, no problem! If no parents can come then bring along your grandparents, aunts or uncles or whoever.
Also a reminder to youth interested in going on our Group Workcamp to New Jersy this summer that we are having a parent/youth meeting right after the supper. If you haven't signed up yet don't worry, just come along and hear about this great opportunity to really help folks in need and grow in your faith.
Look forward to seeing you and your folks this Wednesday night! Hey it will be fun, and a great way of saying thanks! Don't forget the new time 6:30-8:30.

Last night in Grade 10+ we discussed Expectations. We had people write down on sticky notes what they expected from certain things. I managed to take a few good shots of the notes once they were up on the wall. I thought these two notes in particular were great. The full versions can be found in the gallery.
What do you expect of your family?

What do you expect of God?
Well, last week's snow storm pushed our "Let's Make A Deal" night into this week, so be prepared for a Wednesday night to remember as we make deals, open curtains and generally have a great time.
"Let's Make A Deal" begins at 7pm so get there abit early, and get a good seat. Also feel free to dress abit "zany" as it might get you on the show faster. Bring along some strange "items" to make deals with. It could be clothing... food...whatever catches our attention and gives you a chance to make a better deal.
Also a special mention to the Banana Production crew for the great front page article in the Guardian's weekend edition! Oh to be young, famous and have a "million dollar smile". Well done everyone!
See ya'll this Wednesday and look forward to another great night with a great bunch of people.
