Attention All Solid Rockers!
On Wednesday Feb. 6 the crew going to the Group Workcamp Rhode Island project are meeting at 5pm (for first timers) and 5:30 (for the entire crew).It's our first meeting as a full crew and it's just a short matter of months before have a blast doing some good!
Our Solid Rock teaching subject for this Wednesday night is "Jesus' Cause & Effect" led by Karen and Garth. Lots of twists and turns in our teaching nights.
On Friday the Sr Cafe opens its doors at 6pm for the very best local musical talent/trivia/snacks and whatever else the Banana Productions Crew cooks up.
On Sunday night at 6:30 join us for our WoW worship service and make your own blizzards in the cafe afterwards. It's a full week so grab your friends and join us for everything you can fit in!
This Week's Rockin' News
The Jr. High on the other hand will be busy with some skating and winter fun. We'll be meeting at the church at the regular time and walking to the outdoor site. If the weather is bad we'll be staying in the youth room for the evening. So be prepared for anything, dress warm bring skates, hockey sticks and be ready.
I'm also looking for Jr. High who would like to organize a once a month Jr. High only "Drop-In". If you are interested let me know and we'll have a meeting very soon. The first Drop-In night is scheduled for Friday Feb.15.

And now for the winners from last week's Teen Technology Challenge...the gold medal goes to team #5 (Jonathan, Katie, Kristin, Laurell...) The silver medal goes to Team #3 (Angie, David, Andrew, Dan...)and the bronze medal goes to Team #7 (Meg, Luke, Lauryn, Charlotte...)The scores were all very close so remember "we're all number one, 'cause we're all having fun"

Teen Technology Challenge This Week!
The Teen Tech Challenge is all about testing your "teen skills", in areas that really matter to you. We'll be dividing you into teams and sending you off to test yourselves on ten separate challenges.
As far as I know this event has never been attempted, but don't fear, the SRY team will always try most things at least once!
It will be a great kick off to 2008 so make sure you come and drag some of those crazy friends of yours along as well!
No School = No SRY

Welcome To "Teen Tech Challenge"
No math,english or french. No history, physics or chemistry! It's a test all about the stuff that you guys are so good at. Stuff like gadgets, games and social networks.
Bring along your friends and have a good time as Solid Rock gets an unusual kick-off for 2008. Doors open at 6:45.
Also a reminder that the Solid Rock Cafe opens for your social and musical pleasure this Friday night from 6 to midnight. Great music, great times.

It's Time To Party!

This week's SRY takes the form of one awesome and amazing "Whoville Christmas Party".Come dressed as your favourite "who" and come prepared for the best time that a who's ever had.(who's ever heard of a who having a bad time...have you?)
The party gets started at 7pm and includes such highlights as "Who Trivia", "Who's Line Is It Anyway?", and "So You Think Who Can Dance?"
Also bring along a $2 wrapped gift for our gigantic "Who Gift Exchange"
So find some funky bright coloured clothing, fix up your hair, and drag your friends along to our first ever "SRY Whoville Christmas Party".
Both Jr.& Sr. High also have projects going on. The Sr.High are asked to bring $5 for their project and Jr. High bring along some money for your Kenyan Soccer Ball Project. Tis the season to give!
Solid Rock News
The Jr, High Girls are having a "Chick & A Movie Night" at the Cafe starting at 7pm.
The Sr. High Girls are meeting at the Atkinson's home (53 Prince Charles Dr. 566-5995) for a "Shop & Snack" Night beginning at 7pm. Make sure you get picked up from there as well at 9pm. Please bring a twoonie too!
The Jr & Sr High Guys are meeting at the church and then heading to Park Royal United church for a gym night. We'll be back to the church by 9pm.
Solid Rock Cafe this Friday night. Great music, great friends...great time.
Also don't forget our "Who's Solid Rock Christmas Party" on Wednesday Dec. 5. Come dressed as your favourite Christmas "who" and get ready to have a ton of "who" fun.
This Week's SRY Action
There are only four SRY meetings left in 2007. Yikes! Time is flying people!
On Wednesday we're getting together for another SRY teaching night. All the best creative, energetic, and highly paid teachers will be leading us through another lesson from God's Word.
Next week (Nov. 28) is a guys/girls night so stay tuned for details.
On Dec. 5 we're having our first ever Solid Rock Who's Christmas Party. Everyone is to dress up as their favourite "who" from Whoville(its a "Grinch That Stole Christmas" thing) and we'll be playing the very best "who" Christmas games.
On Dec. 12 is our 20th annual (!) Senior's Dinner put on by the SRY. Turkey dinner with all the fixin's for the senior's in our church. If you play music or would like to lead an activity please let us know.
