SRY Veteran's Appreciation Night
Posted by on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 - 1 comment
Hey there Solid Rockers,
Tonight we are having our Veteran's Appreciation Night. We'll be making a visit to some of the veterans in our community and dropping off a basket of some "treats".
It's our small way of saying thank-you for the amazing work these people did.
We'll be making some cards, getting the baskets together and making a visit. We'll be back to the youth room by our regular time.
This Sunday is our WoW worship service at 6:30 followed by "make your own blizzards" in the youth room.

It's a "can't miss" night on Wednesday as we we're off to our very first Solid Rock Youth Spook Night.
Meet at the church at 6 and we'll be returning by 9:30. (we plan on having so much fun that we've added an additional 90 minutes to get it all in!).
Get dressed up, and dress warm for a night outdoors under the stars, surrounded by all your terrified friends.
On Friday the Jr. High are off to Nova Scotia for the Challenge youth event at New Minas Baptist Church. (36 sleepless hours of fun!)

This week both groups are meeting at the church for another classic Solid Rock teaching night.
This week's groups are led by Dennis and Garth and you know that with these two guys in charge anything can and will happen.
Jr. High, don't forget that this Wednesday is the deadline for the Challenge Youth Event Registration and deposit. (the event happens on Oct. 26,27 in New Minas Nova Scotia). Challenge forms are on this website and if you need money to pay for the event, talk or e-mail Pastor Chris about it.
See ya on Wednesday!

Hey there Solid Rockers! It's a busy week so please pay special attention to the details and please, please please, (that's alot of begging) get back to us today (Monday)with your response.
For the Sr. High we have the opportunity to go to Truro for the Sonic Flood concert this Thursday but the response is low (only 4 confirmed) and we need to know if anyone else is planning to go. If we can't fill one van we will have to cancel the trip and cancel SRY for this week. Please let us know today if you can go! It's just $20 for the ticket and transportation. (Just post on this site or on Facebook at Solid Rock Youth Charlottetown)
There is also the first Solid Rock Cafe of the season this Friday night from 6-midnight with special guests Boxer The Horse and The Barncats. A whole new season of great Cafe action and as always it's just $2 at the door.
For the Jr. High this Wednesday we are meeting at the Queen Charlotte gym (North River Rd). Bring along your gym stuff and be prepared to play some of the best gym games on planet earth. Make sure you get dropped off and picked up from the gym. (7-9pm)
It's a busy week of Rock so get out there and make the best of it!
