A New Week Of Rock

SRY got off to an awesome start last week with lots of youth, lots of memories, and lots of supermodels! The grade seven group won "top designer" awards and even won the door prize (our sympathy to Zack Williams)
This Wednesday the Jr & Sr. High get settled into their new "digs", and have another one of our "unpredictable" teaching nights.
Jr. High don't forget to sign up for the Challenge Youth Event in Nova Scotia (Oct 26,27).
Sr. High don't forget to register for next summer's Group Workcamp ($60 deposit for grades 9-12) and also let us know if you are attending the SRY/Sonic Flood Roadtrip/Concert in Truro on Thursday August 4.(just $20)
This Sunday night is our WoW service of worship at 6:30 followed by "make your own Blizzards" at 8pm in the youth room.

Solid Rock Youth Begins!

Well it's about time! The SRY doors swing open this Wednesday Sept. 19 at 7pm, and the hall fills up with awesome people like you.
It's our "Welcome Back" night and it includes music, pictures, dreamers dreaming, youth scrambling, three nice ghosts and six totally amazing fashion designers competing in our first ever "Project Run-aWay" competition. It's all you could hope for and all we could cram into one night.
Invite your friends and get all the news about upcoming events like the Group Workcamp to North Kingston Rhode Island, the Sonic Flood concert in Truro (Oct 4 for Sr. High) and Challenge Youth Retreat in NS (Oct 26,27 for Jr. High. We'll have all the info you need! See ya on Wednesday!

Solid Rock Youth Only Days Away!

Hey there Solid Rockers! Our first night of a new Solid Rock season is just days away and things get kicked off on Wednesday night Sept. 19 from 7-9pm.
We always get things started in unusual ways so come out, gather your friends and enjoy our annual "Welcome Back" night. It's always great to see each other, and welcome a whole new batch of Rockers joining us for the first time.
Keep Sept 19 open and you might as well keep all the Wednesday nights open for all of 2007-2008. It's gonna be another awesome SRY year.

Rafting & Hiking Challenge

The newest edition of the SRY Summer Challenge takes to the road this Thursday August 16 for a few days of white-water rafting and hiking Mt. Katahdin in Maine.
If you're going on the trip don't forget to bring a bag lunch, abit of US spending money and your photo ID or passport. We meet at the church at 6am and return on Sunday evening by 10pm. There are also two forms for a parent to sign at the church so Chris will track you down about it.
We'll try to behave ourselves, stay safe and have alot of fun. Stay tuned for all the tales and pictures.
Summer Rock In The Cafe!

This Friday night August 3 the Solid Rock Cafe opens it's doors for a rare summer session!
Five great bands will be taking the stage ( Cascade, Andrew Murray, The Danks, The Superfantastics, The Gypsies and Two Hours Traffic). It's a great line-up, all designed for your listening enjoyment. Cafe opens from 6-12 midnight and the cost of $5 covers the whole night. See ya then!
Group Work Camp

Hey Solid Rockers - hope everyone is having an awesome summer vacation. Wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that this is the week that our "gang" is at Group Workcamp is Hoosick Falls New York. Remember to pray for these guys and gals as it will be a challenging week of working for those who need a little help in life.
If you have a couple of minutes, head on over to the Workcamp "E-mail a Participant" page and send a note to someone in our group. Just select "Hoosick Falls, NY: 7/08 - 7/14" from the Camp list - then you can email a specific person on the trip, or just address your email to Solid Rock Youth, Charlottetown PEI, and the email will get to them. I'm sure they would love to hear from us! Who doesn't love mail! I know I do. But don't email me, email everyone at Group Workcamp... Well, email them first, then email me if you want to.

SRY Grad Night

This Wednesday (May 30) we're having a special night for all those youth graduating from high school and the SRY.
We'll be a having a "traveling supper" starting at the Atkinsons (53 Prince Charles Dr, Charlottetown) at 5:30 and ending up at the Austins (12 Wendy Dr) at around 9:30. Three locations, three courses and a whole lot of memories.
If you are graduating, come and join us for an evening in your honour (plus...we love to sit around and eat!)
